The
Kentucky Quarter Horse Breeders Association is a non-profit
organization of Kentucky Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred stallion
owners dedicated to increasing the value and improving the quality
of Kentucky-bred Quarter Horses.
ALL
MONEY obtained through stallion nomination fees, the annual stallion
service auction, and donations or contributions of any kind, is
used to sponsor annual high-paying halter, performance and racing
futurities. Foals produced by nominated stallions are eligible
to compete in these futurities during their weanling through aged.
Any
stallion is eligible for nomination providing:
1. He is registered with the American Quarter Horse Association
or the Jockey Club.
2. He stands at stud within the confines of the state of Kentucky
during the breeding season of the year he is nominated.
3. At least 50% ownership in the stallion is maintained by a Kentucky
resident or if the stallion is leased, the lessee
is a Kentucky resident and proof of lease is provided to the KQHBA.
TO
NOMINATE:
Stallions must be nominated annually by payment of a nomination
fee and a donation of one stallion service to be sold by the association.
Nomination will entitle the foals resulting from the breeding
season of the following calendar year to be eligible for KQHBA
futurities. The stallion nomination fee is as follows:
If paid by October 1 $200.00
If paid by November 20 $250.00
If paid by December 31 $300.00
However,
stallions nominated after the December 31st deadline and prior
to stallion service auction may nominate by paying a fee of $300,
plus an amount equal to one-half the advertised breeding fee.
If a stallion breeding fee has not been established, the Executive
Committee will establish a fee for the nominated stallion.
KQHBA
has been in existence since 1983. The membership of KQHBA invites
you to take advantage of this opportunity to increase the value
of your stallion and his foals by becoming an active member of
the organization dedicated to improving the quarter horse breeding
industry in Kentucky.
